Common questions, installation, and DAW host notes for MIKEY MK-78.
Installation
Which build do I need?
The standalone .app for casual use, VST3 or AU for DAW hosting, or the web build for browser-only sessions.
Where does the plugin install?
Copy MIKEY MK-78.vst3 into ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/ and MIKEY MK-78.component into ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/. Restart your DAW.
DAW Hosts
MK-78 is tested in Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Bitwig Studio, Reaper, and FL Studio. On first scan, give your DAW permission to run an unsigned plugin if macOS Gatekeeper prompts. The standalone app is notarized for direct opening.
Troubleshooting
The plugin does not show up in my DAW.
Re-scan plugins in DAW preferences. Confirm the file is in the correct directory and that macOS has not quarantined it.
The voices crackle under load.
Increase the DAW buffer size. MK-78 prefers 256 samples or higher on older Intel Macs.
